Skin Refreshing Summer Salad with Organic Strawberries, and Cucumber

Strawberries and cucumbers seem to be everywhere this summer and they make yummy accents to refreshing salads. Shown above is a simple salad packed with the following skin refreshing nutrients when eaten:

  • 1/2 cup diced organic cucumbers ~ full of water, vitamin E and skin healing natural oils, taken internally cucumbers heal and sooth our internal organs.
  • 1/2 cup chopped organic strawberries ~ it is said that eating fresh strawberries will not only help control oil but also help freshen breath and keep teeth whiter as the juice will naturally loosen plague. 
  • Half an apple diced ~ Apples are fantastic for the body both inside and out. Organic apple adds a nice texture and base for this salad.
  • Optional ~ A dash of grated fresh organic ginger.

In addition to summer salad fixings, this time of year many folks make cooling skin toners out of cucumbers for their soothing and moisturizing properties (on tired skin), and strawberries for their astringent properties since they naturally contain salicylic acid (for oily skin).  Nowadays beauty products are adding fresh fruit enzymes to their products, and there are easy ways to make your own strait from the fruit, just be sure to refrigerate them in a spritzer bottle with equal parts water.
