My recipe is a tasty mixture of greens and vegetables, the first one used on my juicing diet. I originally thought I would gag if I drank anything green and thick, but this was, as my grandmother from Germany and I would say, “Ach du Lieber!”
Ach Du Lieber Veg Smoothie
Calories per serving: 170 if made with spinach, 250 if made with kale. Enjoy!
Ingredients
- 4 cups of raw spinach or kale (kale gives a milder flavor)
- 1/2 cucumber, peeled and diced
- 2 tomatoes, cored and cut up
- 1/2 cup lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (if desired)
- 1 cup of ice
Directions
- Place all items into a blender, and blend until smooth. Makes enough smoothie to fill a 24-ounce drinking glass, or 3 cups.

I’ll definitely have to give this a try, I’m always looking to try new “green drinks”. I definitely love getting my daily calories in the healthiest way possible. This concoction actually seems pretty good- I love the incorporation of the red pepper flakes, probably gives it a nice kick!
