Branzino is considered a delicacy in the Greek culture and can be prepared in a variety of ways. Reap the goodness of a protein-rich seafood option without having to smother it in melted butter. Herb roasted whole branzino is easy to prepare and has a succulent aroma. Try it today!
Whole Herb Roasted Branzino Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 Branzino
- 1 tsp. Rosemary
- 1 tsp. Thyme
- 2 tsp. Oregano
- 3 gloves garlic (minced)
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- Pepper (to taste)
- 4 tbsp. olive oil
- 1/2 lemon (sliced thin)
Cooking Directions
- Preheat the oven to 450 degrees. With a sharp knife, cut the fish four times from the top down, starting just behind the gills going towards the tail; leaving about an inch between each cut and an inch from the bottom of the fish.
- Combine the herbs with garlic, salt and pepper. The herb mixture and olive oil will create a paste which can be rubbed on the entire outer and inner surface of the fish.
- Once the herb and olive oil combination has covered the fish, insert the 4 thin slices of lemon inside the cavity of the fish and place the fish in the oven. Let roast for just about a half an hour.
- Serve this fresh and healthy meal with a salad or sauteed vegetables.

I love herbs with fish. But if you can’t find bronzino, what other type of whole fish can you use?
Hey Maria! Because Branzino is a white meat fish with a mild flavor, another great fish to use would be tilapia. Tilapia is extremely mild and perfect for seafood and non-seafood lovers! Check it out here: http://www.shopfreshseafood.com//buy-seafood/tilapia.html
Hope this helps and if you make the above recipe, let me know how it turns out!
