Eating Vegan in Danville, CA

Located in the heart of the San Ramon Valley, just a quick jaunt from San Francisco, is a great little town called Danville. Peaceful, scenic and full of great American west history, Danville is a perfect place for history geeks to slip away from the city for a tasty meal and take in some fun shopping, parks and museums. There’s also plenty of delicious vegan food in Danville! Here are a few of my faves.

Another German settlement from the mid-1800’s, Gruene boasts some real history and buildings that still stand the test of time, housing full fledged businesses. One of the most impressive is Gruene Hall, whichc you may recognize from some big Hollywood films! Along with the entertainment, history and shopping, you’ll find some good eats for the traveling vegan!

Eating Vegan in New Braunfels

Last time I was in Texas, I got the chance to do a tiny bit of road tripping and I stumbled upon New Braunfels. Just outside of San Antonio in Texas Hill Country, this quaint town was settled by German immigrants in the mid-1800s. With some real American history that can still be seen in parts of downtown, New Braunfels is best known for being the home of Schlitterbahn, a killer water park complete with water roller coaster! But the best part is that amongst the water flumes and ghosts of America’s past, you’ll find some delicious and nutritious grub!

Eating Vegan in Austin, part 2

Since Austin has so many great places to find healthy, vegan, gluten free and other tasty special diet eats, I thought I’d come back for round 2! Such a great Texas city that combines the hip and cool with great southern charm, check out some other fantastic places to visit when in Austin!
