I wrote about Bill Clinton going (almost) vegan back on October 1, 2010. At the time, he was thrilled with the diet, how it made him feel, and his weight loss. Seems he’s still quite happy with it according to comments published in the LATimes on Thursday:
“It’s turning a ship around before it hits the iceberg, but I think we’re beginning to turn it around,” Clinton toldΒ CNN’sΒ Dr. Sanjay Gupta. More to come on Sunday when the interview airs.
Of course, we write about veganismΒ a lot here on Eat Drink Better, as it’s good for the planet, good for your health, and good for the animals (believe it or not). Becky’s got a great series on Eating VeganΒ to help people interested in trying it out or learning more about it. I’ve also written a post on how to go vegetarian that I think is worth a look — my 5 tips apply for veganism as well.
In that post, I mention a ton of famous vegetarians and vegans (I’m 100% sure you’ll be surprised by some of them if you check it out). And we’ve had news of a number of big celebrities going vegetarian since then that I’ve covered, such as Clinton, Mike Tyson (who’s loving it as well), and Oprah (who only did it for a short time, but more than once). Always fun to cover such stories.
Anyway, check out our various resources if you are interested in learning more or trying out the diet yourself, and tune in on Sunday for the CNN interview with Bill Clinton.
