Vandana Shiva is an activist and champion of biodiversity. Her organization, Navdanya biodiversity conservation program, works to educate people about the dangers of genetically engineered food and to fight for food justice. They help set up community seed banks in India and train farmers in sustainable agriculture.
Rhonda over at Ecolocalizer shared a video where Shiva took the World Bank to task for discouraging sustainable agriculture, calling them one of the causes of the third world food crisis. It’s a powerful message, and I thought it was one worth sharing here, as well. Here’s the video:
