According to The Hollywood Reporter on November 14, 2011 Actor Adrian Grenier tweeted a first-look photo of a bottle of Stomping Ground, the first offering from SHFT House Wines, his new sustainable wine label.
The wine is the newest offering from Grenier and Glazter’s “eco-website” SHFT.com, which sells a range of sustainably made products including a number of cool wine-centric items like “affordable” wine punts, beautiful glassware upcycled from empty wine bottles; and the “aspirational” the carbon neutral Esque Studio Decanter made from handmade recycled glass. The site also features multimedia content about sustainable architecture, art, design, fashion, food and home/garden.
Grenier told THR reporter Robert Scoble that “We decided that we were going to create a sustainable wine because we are all about connecting and lifestyle and what better way to connect and communicate ideas about sustainability than around a nice dinner with a great bottle of wine. … It’s a social lubricant.”
The wine is a blend, sourced from “the top organic vineyards in Paso Robles.” According to THR, the ink on the labels is non-toxic and the bottles are re-used, washed and recycled.
You can get in early on the first Stomping Ground release by signing up on SHFT.com. They will start shipping orders December 10th.
