Our pals at Greatist shared yet another awesome infographic with us, this time it’s on getting the proper nutrition before and after your workout.
Since I’m training for a marathon at the moment, workout nutrition is something that’s been on my mind a lot lately. What I like about this graphic, is that it doesn’t push you too much to eat meat and dairy. I’ve talked to some folks who were skeptical that I can get enough calories and protein to train for a marathon while eating vegan, and I think that’s just crazy talk. It’s all about making mindful food choices, and this graphic gives you some info on how to do that.
There are sections that recommend animal protein, but you could easily replace those animal products with vegan protein sources, such as beans, nuts, tofu, tempeh, and whole grains.
