Here is a delicious raw smoothie recipe courtesy of Kristen Suzanne, author of the book Raw Awakening: Your Ultimate Guide to the Raw Food Diet. This is a fabulous smoothie that reminds Suzanne of a Creamsicle. She notes: “another way to enjoy it, equally as delish but different, is with ½ teaspoon of ground cinnamon added.”
Raw Orange-Vanilla Cream Protein Smoothie
Ingredients
- 1 cup raw almond milk
- 1 handful ice
- 1 cup chopped banana
- 3/4 cup fresh orange juice
- 3 tablespoons hemp protein powder
- 1 tablespoon flax meal
- 1/2 teaspoon raw vanilla powder
- grated zest of 1 orange
Cooking Directions
- In a blender, combine the almond milk, ice, banana, orange juice, protein powder, flax meal, vanilla powder, and orange zest.
- Blend until smooth.
- Serve immediately.
