Raw Vegan Brownie Recipe from Raw Awakening

Here is a delicious raw smoothie recipe courtesy of Kristen Suzanne, author of the book Raw Awakening: Your Ultimate Guide to the Raw Food Diet.  This is a fabulous smoothie that reminds Suzanne of a Creamsicle.  She notes: “another way to enjoy it, equally as delish but different, is with ½ teaspoon of ground cinnamon added.”

Raw Orange-Vanilla Cream Protein Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 1 cup raw almond milk
  • 1 handful ice
  • 1 cup chopped banana
  • 3/4 cup fresh orange juice
  • 3 tablespoons hemp protein powder
  • 1 tablespoon flax meal
  • 1/2 teaspoon raw vanilla powder
  • grated zest of 1 orange

Cooking Directions

  1. In a blender, combine the almond milk, ice, banana, orange juice, protein powder, flax meal, vanilla powder, and orange zest.
  2. Blend until smooth.
  3. Serve immediately.
