Our globalized food system can make seasonal eating confusing. Tomatoes in December from Dutch greenhouses? Asparagus in January from Argentina? It’s enough to make your head spin.
Luckily, last week I stumbled upon a great tool for those interested in learning more about seasonal eating. Check out this map at Epicurious.com to determine what produce is fresh in your area in a given month. The map also contains links to shopping guides and recipes to help you make the most of what’s in season.
If you have any other sources for seasonal eating that might be helpful to readers, please leave your tips as comments!
