We all survived Irene out here in the Northeast. Phew. But, some of us experienced major, historic flooding and some STILL don’t have electricity. We talked about ways to cope, stay positive and as always keeping it as green as possible, including ideas for food preservation when the electricity goes out for several days at a time! Neighborhood BBQ anyone?
Green Diva Marie Wilson called in from Los Angeles and talked about why we should consider soy-based candles rather than parrafin. With all the candles being used, it is an excellent topic as it seems the parrafin candles can toss a lot of toxins into the room! She made some suggestions about where to find natural, non-toxic candles (see the Green Divas Radio Show blog – the latest post has all the links and resources from the show!)
We welcomed back our favorite Green Reaper, Elizabeth Fournier, author of All Men Are Cremated Equal: My 77 Blind Dates and funeral director, who specializes in green funerals. Elizabeth has such a wonderful way of making a topic that can be difficult to discuss to accessible and downright inspiring! She talked about some amazingly creative ways people are celebrating the lives of their loved ones.
Green Diva Lisa and Green Dude Scotty had a lot of great ideas and resources to share. Please visit our website for relevant links & resources from the show – Green Divas website.
