The kind folks at Health Warrior are launching a line of chia seed energy bars, and they’re offering up three awesome packages of goodies for some lucky Eat Drink Better readers!

We’ve talked before about the health benefits of chia seeds, and you guys even chimed in with some chia seed recipes and tips of your own!

I’m always wary of health products, especially ones surrounding so-called superfoods, so before working with Health Warrior, I asked to see an ingredients list for the bars. Here it is, for your perusal:

  2. I just started learning about chia seeds. I had some in a dish at a raw food potluck that I went to for the first time. Love to have some and I do like healthy snack bars.

  6. I’ve been using chia nsince before it was “in.” I have slowly but surely gotten many of my friends to use chia, and even those who scoffed and guffawed at my claims are not concerts. It’s almost like I have my own Cult of Chia. I’ve always been an FB fan of Health Warrior for quite a while.

I am walking the Disneyland half marathon in a couple of weeks and the weather is usually very warm so hydration is key.   12. I see articles about how healthy chia seeds are but I never know what to do with them. I just tried some in some gluten free bread and really liked them. Since we just started a new workout regime this would be a great post-workout snack.

  13. I am always recommending chia seeds to people. It is one of the best foods possible to control diabetes. I started my mom with chia seeds last year for the two weeks that I was with her and her blood sugar stabilized! But I know that chia seeds are not just for people with diabetes, the health benefits are awesome for anyone.   14. I am a 4’11”,overweight, female and sick of it. In the last year I have had 2 of my sons deployed to a war zone. With one more son joining the Air Force last November, and my last ready to join as well. Needless to say I need some intervention. With all of my sons out of the house and not in reach, I am ready to put myself first. I have started juicing last Friday, and feel fabulous. I would love to lose some weight though. Its day #4 of juicing and nothing has come off. I am committed to my health. My boys need me to be healthy, and active to keep up with them.   15. I have been reading up on Chia seeds and cannot wait to try them, I have reached a weight loss plateau and need to get over the hump so winning this prize would be fantastic!

  16. I would use the prize as a snack at one of our rest stops at our charities annual bike ride in October. We raise money to buy bikes for students in school to get to after school activities, saturday tutorials, sports programs or just for fun! They have to do well in school to “earn’ their bicycles. We hope to gie away 10,000 this December right before Christmas – many of the children do not get a gift so this is a really prized bike, they earn it and it is a gift at christmas. if you want to know more about us.

  17. Having some healthy snacks around (that I didn’t need to make myself) would be great, and I’d love the opportunity to try out some chia seed.

  18. Working in a high school, I see many students come to school with a caffeine energy drink for breakfast. I have been discussing nutrition with the students who are receptive, and a few times last year gave students with no breakfast something from my lunch to get them through the morning.   22. I have been using chia seeds in my smoothies for several years. I am vegan and really am selective about my snacks, so the bars would be a great snack for me. I would also share them with my friends and family!

  23. I have never tried chia seeds, but would love to. I keep hearing about their health benefits, and being gluten free as well as vegan I have a hard time finding sources of protein, fiber, and add-ins for my soups, salads, and smoothies.
    I have hemp seed protein at home, but it’s not cutting it anymore. I would love a chance to try something new, as being a student doesn’t allow me free spending to try something like this. Thank you!
