Freshtech Automatic Jam and Jelly Maker Review and Giveaway

FreshTech Automatic Jam and Jelly Maker

It’s so much fun to create your own jams and jellies and share them with friends and family. While it’s not an especially difficult process, the Freshtech Automatic Jam and Jelly Maker makes it even easier.

The Freshtech Jelly Maker is basically a pot with lid and a stirrer, set on top of an electric base. The base has a default timer for jams and jellies and it can also be programmed, if you have a recipe that needs more or less time than the default. The pot, stirrer, and lid are all dishwasher safe and come clean easily.

The Freshtech cooks the jam or jelly at just the right temperature, stirring it the whole time and freeing you up to do other things around the kitchen. You can’t just pour in the ingredients and walk away, though. Gentle beeps from the machine let you know when it’s time to add the sugar and when it’s done and you’ll need to be in the same room to hear the beeps.

Each batch in the Freshtech Automatic Jam and Jelly Maker is about four or five half-pint jars. Thirty-two recipes for the Freshtech are online on Ball’s site. A booklet that comes with the machine includes several recipes. Each recipe has a traditional version and a low-sugar option. The booklet also includes instructions for preserving the jams and jellies.

  1. OMG! I would try every type of fruit available and even some vegetable types like pepper spread! Awesome!

  2. Oooh! I think I would go a little marmilade crazy since there is so much citrus growig in my neighborhood! I would love to do herb-infused jams so I could share my wonderful herb garden with friends. This sounds so cool!

  3. DEFINITELY would make plum jelly – after both grandmothers got me hooked on it as a kid, it’s my go-to, must-have jelly – and yet I never got around to making it this year. :-(

And then, after that, I’d be trying marmalade. Yum.

It sounds just delicious and of course it would be so easy to make in the new machine.

  7. I would love this. I make “everything” into jam & jelly. Fruits, zuchinni, and I love pepper jelly. This is a great new invention….

  8. The Jam and Jelly maker looks like so much fun to use. Black raspberry jam would be our number one jam to make. Strawberry and peach are favorites here, too.

  9. I would make orange pineapple jam!
Thank you for all your wonderful products!
My family has used you products for 3 generations!

  10. Fig jam! My wife and I rented a place that had a wonderful Desert King fig tree in the backyard (a novelty here in Seattle, WA!) and it produced an amazing harvest of figs. We’d never really done anything with figs before, so we set out to try all the ways to preserve it – drying, freezing, and finally jamming.

The jams turned out so well that we ended up gifting most of them to friends and family, who now never fail to ask us when we’re going to have more!

I’ll be following you all via my facebook page, Food and the Environment, from now on. Thanks for this great review and doing this giveaway! :)

  23. Here is the recipe I used in my jam maker: SPICED PEACH JAM
    6C. PEELED CHOPPED PEACHES
    3C. SUGAR
    1TEASPOON CINNAMON
    3 TABLESPOONS LEMON JUICE
    1/2 TEASPOON GROUND CARDAMOM
    1/2 TEASPOON NUTMEG
MIX ALL INGREDIENTS IN A BOWL. POUR INTO JAM MAKER AND COOK FOR 26 TO 28 MINUTES. LADLE INTO JARS. LET COOL & STORE IN FREEZER.
THIS IS MY NEW FAVORITE JAM! CARDAMOM IS EXPENSIVE, BUT WELL WORTH THE PRICE, AND YOU ONLY NEED A SMALL AMOUNT TO REALLY JAZZ UP THE FLAVOR IN COOKIES, CAKES, PIES WHATEVER YOUR IMAGINATION COMES UP WITH! HOPE YOU ENJOY!

  28. I would to have have a lemon curd recipe for the jam maker. How great would it be to not have to stand @ the stove stirring and stirring and stirring!

  29. I would love to have this. I make a varity of jams and jellies but my family begs for my apple butter. This would make things so much eaiser for me.

  30. My favorite jam in the whole world – peach with raspberries. Beautiful color, wonderful taste. I give it as holiday gifts, and never have enough!

  31. I grew up on a small working farm where my mom would either can or freeze any produce that wasn’t sold. We had a fairly big Midwest family and mom would make enough to last all winter! I miss my mom and this past summer I started canning again. It brought back so many wonderful memories of me sitting in the kitchen working on bushels or quarts of peas, strawberries, beans, or some other wonderful fruit or vegetable fresh from our garden. Thanks for the trip back down memory lane!

  32. I love to make black raspberry jelly. If I had the jelly maker, it would be so much easier. Hope I win. Thank you.
