Free Recipe Booklet
The Food Day recipe booklet (pdf) contains recipes from the likes of Dan Barber, Mario Batali, Rick Bayless, Mark Bittman, Ellie Krieger, Emeril Lagasse, Lynne Rossetto Kasper, Kate Sherwood, Marie Simmons, and Nina Simonds.
A number of the recipes are fall-themed, centering around apples, cranberries, and root vegetables. Most look pretty simple, requiring about twenty minutes to put together and using maybe one pot and one bowl to mix in.
What is Food Day?
Food Day is designed to bring awareness to an every day activity that many people take for granted. It’s an event sponsored by the Center for Science in the Public Interest to organize communities to eat real and eat fresh. All the recipes in their booklet can be made easily with fresh seasonal ingredients.
It’s not too late to organize your own Food Day gathering or find one in your area. The front page of the Food Day site has a map with all the Food Day events. You can search by zip code or just by double clicking the map to zoom in on an area. The events take a moment to load sometimes.
