The Portland Green Festival Expo is coming on December 11-13, 2015. Here are the food speakers you won’t want to miss. The Expo is what it says it is: a showcase of green brands, and there is plenty of susty food goodness to check out at the Expo. These are our favorite food-related talks on the schedule:
Friday, December 11
+ Amy Pearl – The founder of Hatch Innovation Lab will be talking about how food, community, and business intertwine at 2:30pm on the Green Festival Stage.
Saturday, December 12
+ Alex Forsythe – Chef Forsythe is all about simple, healthy food and he will be looking at our food history and the future of healthy eating. 10:30am on the Green Festival Stage.
+ Sandy Smith – Author Sandy Smith will talk about the teaching gardening to kids and motivating the next generation of changemakers through fiction. 10:30am in the Lifestyle Pavillion.
+ Jan Spencer – The founder of Suburban Permaculture will be talking about building sustainable communities, which includes local food systems. 11:30am on the Green Festival Stage.
+ Our Food, Our Future – A group of speakers from local food organizations will be talking about mitigating climate change and securing our food future at 1:30pm on the Green Festival Stage.
+ Milan Ross – The Full Flavor Vegan will be talking about how a vegan diet can transform your health at 1:30pm in the Lifestyle Pavillion
+ John Lewis, aka The Badass Vegan. This guy is a plant-based superstar. His talk, Plant-Based Power, is at 4:30pm in the Lifestyle Pavillion.
Sunday, December 13
+ Connie Shaw – Don’t miss her fermentation demonstration at 10:30am on the Green Festival Stage.
+ Christine Liu – The Packaging Girl is going to talk about the benefits of going packaging free at 12pm in the Lifestyle Pavillion.
+ Peter Spendelow – This Northwest VEG boardmember will share the best ways to mitigate climate change through diet at 1pm in the Lifestyle Pavillion.
+ Leslie Durso – Vegan cheg Leslie Durso will talk about creating a “Wellness Kitchen” at 1:30pm on the Green Festival Stage.
+ Lisa Spicka – The Sustainable Food Trade Association Associate Director will be talking about building more sustainable food systems at 4:15pm on the Green Festival Stage.
