Florida state legislature rejected ‘ag gag’ language in agricultural bill yesterday.
According to Capitol City News:
Animal rights activists won a victory in the state legislature today as agricultural powerhouses dropped a plan to make it a crime to videotape on farms. As Mike Vasilinda tells us, activists say the legislation could have kept animal abuse secret and put human consumers at risk.
Laura Breven at the Humane Society also made a statement about the bills:
We applaud Florida’s Senate committee members for recognizing the folly of this provision and killing it. We urge lawmakers in states with similar bills pending to follow Florida’s lead and reject these bills.
