The market garden is located right behind Coan, and it’s very impressive! They’re growing corn, potatoes, sweet potatoes, garlic, black eyed peas, and a ton of other crops that do well in this climate.
It’s pretty easy to grow pizza makings: tomatoes, basil, garlic, onions, etc, and the Edgewood Community Garden has a cob pizza oven where the kids can learn how to cook with those veggies they’re growing. Cob is a pretty amazing building material. It’s a mixture of clay and straw, and green builders use it to mold all sorts of structures, from ovens like this one to whole cob homes!
