I personally have been eating a plant based diet for about a year now.Ā Despite being pretty fit and otherwise health, my cholesterolĀ was always quite high…thanks mom and dad for the genes.Ā I was encouraged as a child to go on medication for it…but never really encouraged to change my diet by my doctors.Ā Thankfully, I did not go on medication.Ā Since beginning a plant-based diet as an adult, my cholesterol has dropped significantly – about 50 points in one year. My GP was astounded.

Oh wow! I had super high cholesterol, too, before going vegan despite being in great shape otherwise. The doctors wanted me on meds, but I opted to change my diet instead. 3 months later, my cholesterol was normal, and it’s been that way ever since.
