I personally have been eating a plant based diet for about a year now. Despite being pretty fit and otherwise health, my cholesterol was always quite high…thanks mom and dad for the genes. I was encouraged as a child to go on medication for it…but never really encouraged to change my diet by my doctors. Thankfully, I did not go on medication. Since beginning a plant-based diet as an adult, my cholesterol has dropped significantly – about 50 points in one year. My GP was astounded.
