'Forks Over Knives' Launches Vegan Meal Delivery Service

“Forks Over Knives,” the influential 2011 film that inspired a food revolution, eventually led to its own “Forks Over Knives” diet plan–a plant-based, whole foods approach to nutrition. And now, the organization has launched its own meal delivery service called Forks Fresh Meals.

“More than anything, we want people to be healthy and happy,” Brian Wendel, president and founder of “Forks Over Knives” told Latest Vegan News. “We often hear how finding great-tasting, healthy food is often challenging to come by for people, especially those with busy schedules. We created Forks Fresh Meals to serve as a way to make a whole-food, plant-based lifestyle easy, delicious, and super-convenient. Having this service allows us to bring a healthier lifestyle to a greater number of people.”

The brand is joining the growing plant-based meal delivery service trend. Beyoncé and Jay Z recently partnered with their vegan chef, Marco Borges, on 22 Days, a vegan meal delivery service named after the 22-day vegan diet program Beyoncé credits for her 60-pound weight loss and overall improved health.

Developed by FOK’s culinary project director and chef, Darshana Thacker, Fork Fresh Meals’ menu favors seasonal and regionally available items and includes meals such as “garlic hash browns with kale; corn and black bean cakes; three bean chili; Tex-mex casserole; cranberry orange pumpkin muffins,” reports Latest Vegan News.

“Our talented on-site chef Chris Allen prepares the meals and makes sure every dish tastes great and travels well,” adds Wendel.

Fork Fresh Meals builds upon the “Forks Over Knives” diet approach to whole, plant-based foods and is available for immediate delivery in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. Customers can choose from plans offering 5, 10, or 15 meals per week.

“We are working to expand the delivery range of our Philadelphia facility to cover more of the east coast and Mid-Atlantic states,” says Wendel. “We anticipate a west coast operation shortly after the new year.”
