Not too long ago, Zach shared a recipe for pizza. Like he mentioned, dough and cheese (real or faux) aren’t the healthiest, but in terms of treating yourself home made pizza isn’t such a splurge.
Zach’s recipe calls for store bought pizza dough, but for the purists out there, I wanted to share this video recipe I found for no knead pizza dough from Food Wishes that you can make easily from scratch:
Doesn’t that look delicious? I’d love to experiment with making that dough using a bit more whole wheat flour – maybe half and half?
Vegan Pizza Toppings
Of course, the real fun of pizza is in the toppings! I don’t do the cheese thing, but some vegan cheese or a drizzle of olive oil on top after the pizza is cooked always makes things feel more decadent. Here are some of my favorite pizza topping combos:
- Basil, sliced tomato, black olives, and roasted garlic
- Spinach and crumbled tofu
- Green and black olives
- Sliced pineapple and jalapeno
- Broccoli, roasted garlic, and green olives
- Soysage and sauteed peppers
