It’s Blog Action Day, and while I generally cringe at putting my name next to anything promoted as a “blog”, this is a worthy cause as the theme is “inequality.” As someone who has been a vegan and animal rights activist for more than 20 years, writing about inequality in our food system is a no-brainer. It’s an important topic to discuss. From the food deserts, to the high price for healthy food, to the tons of it going into the trash while millions go hungry. But no issue is more pressing and more ignored than eating animals


Do you MoFo? September is the Vegan Month of Food!

It’s that time of year again when bloggers from all over the world put fingers to keyboard to write as much as they can about vegan food. It’s called Vegan MoFo, which stands for Vegan Month of Food. It was started years ago by the Post Punk Kitchen as the vegan blogger equivalent of NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month)

comfortably yum If you've been a vegan for any number of years, you may be doing quite a few head turns lately. All of a sudden, the vegan diet is popular with former presidents and vice presidents. With heavyweight champions and Olympic gold-medal winners. It's the on-and-off again diet du jour for Beyoncé. We've certainly come a long way from the good ol' days where we considered ourselves lucky if we could find tofu, let alone a vegan cookbook with recipes how to cook it
