It’s that time of year again when bloggers from all over the world put fingers to keyboard to write as much as they can about vegan food. It’s called Vegan MoFo, which stands for Vegan Month of Food. It was started years ago by the Post Punk Kitchen as the vegan blogger equivalent of NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month)

I admit it: I have a hummus problem. I used to have it under control, back in the Olden Times when I thought it was only about the chickpeas. Once I understood the breadth and depth of this particular canvas, though, things got a bit more (deliciously) complicated! This recipe features black beans, cilantro, chipotle and lime, for a spicy Southwestern twist on a classic vegan favorite -- because chickpeas shouldn't get to have all the fun

Going vegan is easy; but finding fair-trade dairy free chocolate chips at a reasonable price can be challenging! Not only do manufacturers like to sneak in the ol' cow juice, but many chocolate companies just LOVE exploiting child slavery -- which I strongly prefer not to support, thankyouverymuch. Since both vegan and fair trade factors are important to me, and since I don't have an unlimited fund for building up my chocolate chip pantry shelf, I tinkered up this recipe for cruelty-free dairy-free fair-trade nom.
