1. Crew Rep – Business Development, Community Outreach: Compost Crew – The Compost Crew is an organic waste solution for residents and businesses in the DC metro area and Baltimore. We offer a clean, convenient collection of compostables – food scraps, egg shells, napkins and much more – Similar to a recycling service, we collect food waste and other organic material from the local community to be composted and reused. The Compost Crew is in need of motivated individuals to represent us at farmers markets, plant and garden stores, organic grocery stores, and green events throughout the DC metro area and Baltimore. This is a great opportunity to develop your community outreach, advocacy, and business development skills as part of an all star team that is working to enact change through business. Responsibilities will include storing and setting up The Compost Crew booth (a canopy, folding table, and some small odds and ends), promoting the services and products that The Compost Crew has to offer (compostcrew.com), and taking down the booth.
2. Zero Waste Coordinator: NYC Department of Education – The Department of Education (DOE) and the Department of Sanitation (DSNY), along with our nonprofit partner GrowNYC, are collaborating to launch the Zero Waste Schools Program announced by Mayor de Blasio on Earth Day 2015, and outlined in the new sustainability plan One New York. The Zero Waste (ZW) Coordinator will be based primarily in the field as a resource to schools in the two initial Zero Waste zones, as well as to schools throughout the city. The ZW Coordinator will provide technical support and guidance on program implementation and operation to DOE school-based and district staff and administrators, in accordance with Chancellor’s Regulation A-850 (2013), Recycling laws Local Law 19 (1989), Local Law 40/41 (2010), and Local Law 77, which mandates organics collection in participating schools. Performs related work.
3. Senior Manager, Global Learning: Water.Org – At Water.org we envision the day when everyone in the world can take a safe drink of water and experience the dignity of a toilet. For more than 20 years, we have been at the forefront of developing and delivering solutions to the water crisis. Founded by Gary White and Matt Damon, Water.org pioneers innovative, community-driven, and market-based solutions to ensure all people have access to safe water and sanitation; giving women hope, children health, and communities a future. To date, Water.org has positively transformed millions of lives in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean by providing access to safe water and sanitation. This position will report to the Director of International Programs, who will be based in Denver, CO. The position will work from either our headquarters office in Kansas City, MO or our satellite office in San Francisco, CA. S/he will work closely with members of the International Programs team located in the U.S. and in six regional offices around the globe. This person will also collaborate with the Director of Strategic Initiatives, based in San Francisco. As a senior member of the team, this individual will be expected to represent Water.org to a variety of external audiences including our partners, practitioners in countries inside and outside of our operational areas, strategic donors and other collaborating institutions. Travel to areas where Water.org operates will be expected periodically.

Director, Water Program: Ceres – Ceres is a not-for-profit organization that partners with institutional investors, large companies, environmental organizations and other public interest groups, with the goal of mobilizing investor and business leadership to build a thriving, sustainable global economy. The Director, Water Program position is a full-time position, reporting to the Senior Program Director of the Water Program. Ceres’ Water Program works with our investor and environmental advocacy partners to accelerate the development of sustainable water systems in the United States. This position will play a pivotal role in Ceres’ efforts to encourage the evolution of the water utility business model and financial practices in support of more sustainable water management by U.S. water service providers. Primary areas of focus will include decoupling of water system revenues from volumetric water sales to enable utilities to pursue water conservation as part of their primary business model; improving the transparency of the water sector through development of improved disclosure and credit risk analysis; driving more efficient integration of water risk data by investors; and collaboratively developing intellectual capital on investment vehicles capable of directing institutional dollars toward sustainable water systems, including energy efficient treatment systems and distributed infrastructure.
5. Digital Project Manager: Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine – The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine is a nonprofit health organization dedicated to saving and improving lives through good nutrition, advanced medical research, and public policy advocacy. Our vision is to create a healthier world through a new emphasis on disease prevention, plant-based nutrition, and scientific research conducted ethically, without using animals. The digital project manager will be responsible for increasing the efficiency of digital projects and will oversee Web content for the Physicians Committee. The role will focus on leading the process of updating the website, creating organizational alignment in the process, managing people and projects, and coordinating a team that possesses advanced technical, design, and editorial skills. The role does not include making the updates to the website or backend work. Specific duties include driving and ensuring organizational alignment between departments, planning project life cycles, monitoring the scope of projects, managing expectations, leading project kickoff meetings, keeping a content calendar, documenting meetings, and reporting on deliverables.
