how to peel garlic

Oh, garlic! You are as delicious as you are good for us, but you are kind of annoying to peel. Here’s a video showing you how to peel garlic – a whole head of the stuff! – in less time than it takes to wash your knife.

The trouble with using fresh garlic in cooking is that it’s kind of a production, isn’t it? Once you start peeling, it gets sticky, stinky, and makes a huge mess. That’s why I had to share this freaking amazing video from Saveur’s Executive Food Editor, Todd Coleman, showing you how to peel an entire head of garlic in no time and with less mess. Check it:

How cool, right? I knew you could crush individual cloves to get at the goods without laborious peeling, but this double bowl method blows that out of the water!

Now that you know how to peel yourself a whole head of garlic in less than 10 seconds, what are you going to cook?
