Thanks for the comments everyone, you’re all right on. As a person who eats very, very little meat, I am offended at this additional bailout, and to use taxpayer funds to help companies that are part of the problem is especially annoying.

I would have loved to have put a gross picture of a CAFO, but in general the website shies away from disgusting/graphic photos. I find it more ironic to show a picture of what’s furthest from the truth.

A farmer who practices polyculture and has a diverse set of crops and animals would be way less affected by a drop in the price of one of his or her crops or animals.

This is a bailout for the worst kind of large-scale intensive monoculture. I hate that my tax dollars go to this kind of thing.

As for this post, I really think you should have used a stinky, filthy photo of a pig CAFO, instead of the near-pastoral scene you show above. But, thanks for illuminating this issue.
